“Challenge yourself with new surrounding. Then only you’ll know your strengths and abilities”-Ira,2016
This post is dedicated specially to those who requested. Saya tak mampu nak taip panjang dalam whatsapp. Typo maharaja maharani semua jadi. Nah cerita kat sini. To Asyaf, Khairiah, Aqilah, Zaimah and 'Izzah.. All the best for your iv and hope this will help a little bit.
It was my first time experience. So let me first tell you, frankly speaking, I am so dead nervous for the interview session. Because hello, I’m gonna speak with strangers whom should be called as sir or miss or whatsoever, in English!
I rarely speak English for sure. Well I did use
“I don’t think so”
“I see”
“Well I don’t know”.
But for sure, these aren’t going to help me speak fluently during that day. But, yeah. Let’s give a try !
********
5th of April 2016, Tuesday.
“What kind of day is coming? Too bad, none of my friend will be there.”
My day went quite bad since that we had to make a move in the morning from hotel which was 6 am something. It was all because of my fault. I thought that the interview session will be held at KDU College in Petaling Jaya. But then, it happened to be in KDU University College in Ultropolis, which is 11-12km away from our hotel. So that’s why I had to go right in the morning in other to find the exact place. (KL now is so far different from the past few years. I hate the bad traffic, the simpang siur road and the costy lifestyle ugh my lychee drink cost about RM4.50 and it was in a small glass. Lol)

And then, I finally arrived safely. Looking at how other candidates were dressed so good (some of them wore suit and they looked so exclusive) of course, my self esteem quite dropping down. Huhu.
“But then, it’s okay. They are all candidates. We’re in the same level. All of us will be tested.”
After my breakfast, I had to go to Level 3A to meet the other candidates. And I did approached this one girl, but …. I don’t think she can fit well with me so I took the lift all by myself. And I were asked by the senior to be seated on the chair (which was in a systematic arrangement of rows and column for briefing). I sat beside a boy and he was so smart looking so I don’t have the courage to speak with him. And a pretty girl with a blonde hair approached me, Elly from KL. She talked to me in English and I had no choice, I had to reply in English too (people did look at us with ‘so creepy kind of looking’ because most of them speak in Malay except both of us). So, no one approached me after Elly and we finally become a couple for the session.
“I don’t think that they’ll measure your performance based on how good or fluent your English is. More to your confident level and soft skills. Right? Don’t worry, I speak fast too. And I’m worried for myself too Haha!”-Elly,2016

ONLINE ASSESMENT (CPSQ & TSA)
It was held in a lab, fully occupied with laptops for sure. I sat beside Elly and she did the test so faaast!
So I’m going to talk about the assessment (I’ll use present tense because I can lol)
The CPSQ is an easy test because it only refers to our personality but it is so complex, and the question itself will reflect our behavior in our life. (The questions are so tricky, and you can’t lie. Honestly, speaking) And try to be fast, do not take too long to decide, because you’ll end up with a lot more complex questions ahead. Hahaha, just do it. It is all about yourself, personalities, characteristics and behavior. All of it can be revealed through CPSQ! Much scary?
The TSA Test is sooooo tricky but still okay-lah. I have one copy of example from Oxford, if you want to go through the questions, simply whatsapp me.
“But I was tested with Cambridge Paper instead of Oxford.”
It consists of English Comphrension and Logic Maths. Since that we were allowed to skip questions, and proceed to the next question and flip back, so I ended up leaving all of the Math questions and finished the comphrension first. Because, the compherension need a lot of time since that we firstly need to understand the passage, find the main idea and choose the right answer. It is an objective test. The Math questions mainly need your logic and critical thinking. ( I solved most of them using Probability, Sets, Permutation and Index). I just think of what I have learnt from classes lol.
“Sample- there is one piece of paper, with given accurate measurement of height, width and other charactheristics, we were asked to calculate how much lines will be in the paper”
Alhamdulillah, I passed the test. Those who didn’t pass were allowed to make a move.

INTERVIEW SESSION (Individual&group discussion)
We were divided into group A and B. I was in group A18-3. I sat beside Megat, who was quite a good companion during the briefing session. He was so friendly and I really didn’t expect that (I was thinking if I should exchange my seat with him in order to sit beside a girl so that we can talk, because I was extremely sleepy) I slept at 1 a.m lastnight. And we did talk a lot!
We were given with a case to be studied. Mine was “what graduates need from employer” and “what should Petronas do in order to recruit good graduates”
We were given about 10 minutes to generate ideas. And then, we went into the interview room. It was so exciting! (more like am I’m going to jump from the 100th floor of whatever tower in the world? Oh haha no, it just an interview!) The senior from UTP did give some advices.
“Good luck to all of you. No worries, they won’t bite! Do the best okay”
So, there were two panels. A woman and a man. Both were good looking and so friendly. (I thought that they’ll be so freaking strict like YOU-MUST-REPECT-ME-FROM-TOP-TO-BOTTOM) but they weren’t like that. We sat according to our number.
“Don’t be nervous. Haha I know you are. We experienced that feeling already. But just cool. Don’t feel stressed. We are just human. Hahaha!”-panels,2016
So, I am going to share some tips for group discussion (based on my experience in my team)!
1. Show your interest with others’ opinions and ideas.
Look at who is speaking. Study her/his idea. This will a help a lot during your further discussion because somehow, you’ll generate new ideas to support your team opinion. Since that you will be asked to end up your discussion with the BEST ANSWER. So, be alert!
2. Support your team members.
Bear in mind that all of you are trying their best. Do not look down with others’ ideas. Treat them equally. For example, my team mates will look at me with their supportive face when I stuck at some point. It feels like they were all delivering a message through telepathy ‘you can do it. Yes you can!’ I really think that they helped a lot during my session! Thank you guys! (I did stuck and come out with ‘apebenda alah tu’ in the middle of my English-sentence lol)
3. Do not conquer discussion.
Alhamdulillah. None of my members did this. Even the seniors remind us about this. When you conquer the discussion, it will show how uncooperative you are. This is not a good action. I told you!
Megat did this : One of our member didn’t talk for quite a long time. Surprisingly, Megat said “I want Ana to speak her idea”
A big thumb up to you, Megat!
4. Be confident! Make people believe in your idea.
I stuck at one point and turned out , I talked anything without thinking. Lol, let it go. I don’t care. But still, fake it until you’ll make it. This is not revelant kot HAHAHA ABAIKAN NI. One of my member don't want to speak in English because she was not comfortable in delivering her ideas. So she asked the panel if she can talk in Malay. And she can! Her bombastic ideas come out and I was so amazed . She is so confident and I love it ! Her ideas were just starsss for you !(Update: She got the sponsorship)
5. Manage your team well.
Try to volunteer as a leader or at least suggest a leader. He/she will lead your discussion.
My leader,Ekin (I elected her to be the leader and all of them agreed with me) was a very supportive leader. Whenever we voice out our opinion, she’ll say:
“That is a good idea! I love it because….”
“I think the idea is relevant since that…”
“That’s true. I agree with you.”
“Well, I think that is good. It just that ….”
“I get your idea. That is good!”
Fakhri volunteered to be the secretary. He will write all the points given by the members and write it on the whiteboard. (Update : He got the sponsorship)
6. Speak your idea. Communicate well!
Try your best to contribute something in the discussion. My experience,
We went out of the topic. So we wasted our 15 minutes discussing unnecessary things. (we were given 30 minutes of time). But then, we didn’t put a blame on each other.
“Because it was our discussion , so it was our mistake. We do it, we face it!”
And then, we presented our ideas and conclusion of discussion.
“I was so surprised when all of you discussed something that is totally out of our instruction. And I decided to wait and see where are you going at the end with all those points. But luckily, you realized the mistake in the middle. And come out with brilliant and creative ideas in the end. Congratulations to all of you!”- Panel,2016.
Then, we had an informal Q&A session with the panel. And session ended!
We took weefie , exchanged contacts and follow each other on instagram! I love my new logistic, my new friends and new love!
